2016 GMC Sierra 3500 Repair Procedure
Our client has AmTrust Insurance and has a 2016 GMC Sierra 3500 that struck a barrier in the road. The OEM Certified Collision Facility our client chose to restore his truck back to its pre-loss OEM Condition issued a complete repair plan for $30,900.00.
AmTrust elected to wrongfully deem our client’s 2016 GMC Sierra 3500 a Total Loss. AmTrust valued the 2016 GMC Sierra 3500 at $38,024.00. Our client wanted his truck returned back to its pre-loss condition.
The Damage to Loss Ratio ($30,900 / $38,024 = 82%) was 82%. The Texas Transportation Department sets the Total Loss Threshold as 100% of the Actual Cash Value. Meaning if the repair cost, minus the paint cost, and sales tax is less than the Actual Cash Value, the vehicle is eligible to be repaired.
Our client employed us to issue a damage loss module and explain to AmTrust the Texas Total Loss Threshold code. AmTrust subsequently agreed to the $30,900.00 repair plan to restore our client’s 2016 GMC Sierra 3500 back to it’s pre-loss OEM condition after presented the facts.
